WEG Motor Bearings

WEG fits high quality bearings (from the best manufacturers) to its motors thereby increasing motor life.  

Motor Shaft, Windings and Rotor

Firstly, WEG makes motor shafts from SAE/AISI 1040/45 carbon steel. Secondly, this steel provides high mechanical strength thereby extending the life of the motor. Thirdly, WEG uses windings (enameled) with class F varnish. Fourthly, these windings are suitable for VSD applications. Lastly, WEG dynamically balances its rotors to reduce vibrations, therefore ensuring your motor lasts longer.

Frame and Stator

WEG manufactures its frames from FC-200 cast iron. Importantly, this grade of cast iron is great for improving heat conductivity. Moreover, WEG motors are strong enough to meet hostile African climatic environments. For instance, WEG builds stators with low-loss steel lamination. This reduces magnetic losses and operating temperatures.

Fan and Fan Cover

WEG makes fan covers from high grade steel, thereby increasing its serviceability and corrosion resistance. In addition, WEG do design the fan and fan cover with noise reduction in mind. Above all, with such efficient cooling measures, low-motor-temperature-rise results, which increases overall motor efficiency.

End Shield

WEG builds all its electric motors’ DE and NDE shields from FC-200 cast iron. As a consequence, lower shaft temperatures result due to better heat radiation.

WEG manufactures the terminal box from high grade cast iron. This makes connections easy. Importantly, the terminal box is rotatable at 90 degree intervals.
